    My M1 Garand

It's my first... CMP service grade. HRA with HRA barrel and op rod. Does anyone know if it has an hra stock? Stock has circle p on palm swell, and 1/2" eagle with 3 stars. Sorry if that isn't enough info for ID.

      Very nice, congrats!

Scroll down on this page to the HRA section to see if the stock cartouche matches your rifle http://www.trfindley.com/pgsnstmpsm1.html.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

It has a profile of an SA but I will need to see the back porch and the P on the grip to tell you for certain if it's SA or HRA.

I believe the eagle with the 3 stars was a War Dept acceptance stamp. I have 3 Garands. Your service grade looks great. I have seen those in person at the stores and some of the stocks, to me, were left to be desired.
Go to the CMP website. Once you click on it, go to Rifle sales on the left, then on the left go to Forums. Establish a username and password like you did here and you will find all kinds of threads and good people to help you too.

Sans Serif font on the "P" stamp and a big porch (flat behind the receiver heel) = HRA

                  Nice Rifle.

I really want one, with a GI stock like that (a little more character than the new stocks).

You may have just pushed me off the fence.

Nope, not single. I'm married with children. But what is a Dav?
It looks to be a serif circle p

My grandparents used to call their couch a davenport.
