cmp garand-do they need work?

Check the op rod spring.
Mine was broken in 3 places.
Replaced it with: Garand Gear M1 Garand Operating Rod Spring
and it's been shooting great ever since.

No need to buy small tubes of so called high tech gun grease
ANY good quality wheel bearing grease is overkill for the Garand
