Whoa! I would not have opened it. The more of an "NOS" state a collectors item is in, the higher the value. IMHO, you greatly lowered the value. That is unless you wanted to open it and go shooting

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

You're probably right -- but, I would have HAD to open it!

Very nice! How did you come by this "box" and what did it cost?

Awesome find! I'm sick with jealousy.

If you're in a bartering mood, I'll trade you 25 rounds of reloaded 5.56 for it.

J/K- it's part of my new economy. I stopped seeing prices in dollars and started seeing prices in rounds of ammo. Breakfast for 3 at Corky's = two boxes of PMC 9mm. Filled the tank of the truck = 500-round brick of .22LR.

The box was found under the bed of a widow. Her husband owned a gun store. She has asked me to help her put a value on it and sell it. I did not break the seal on the box or the bag. The packing list on the box said there should be (2) mags, but there is only 1. Nor is the leather sling, spare firing pin or spare extractor.

Nice! If it were mine, I'd have to go shoot it.
