Huh, in all the 40 plus purchases I have made from CMP I never got a e-mail saying they were shipping.
I do get phone calls from FedEx. I dont know then????????

Hmm, well maybe it's something new they're doing? I have no clue, first time I've ordered from them.

I am having them hold it at a 'sorting facility' so I can pick it up myself this evening and not worry about someone being home to intercept.

All I need to do is get out to the range this weekend to get a range official to watch me shoot and sign off the one form then my packet is getting mailed out first thing Monday morning after notarization. Then it's the wait! But school should keep me busy

My delivery was scheduled for today so I decided to go home for lunch. As i pulled up so did Fedex. I feverishly opened her up. She's everything i ever wanted. Ill post pics when i get home.

Counting down the minutes. I go home at 3. One more hour to go. I dont know shiz about them so ill have to defer to you guys to tell me about it. All i know is that it was built in and around March-April of 1944

My opinion: Most Garands coming out of CMP are "mixmasters" - a mix if parts from different manufacturers. This is 100% OK. Don't worry about it being "correct" or whatever, just shoot it and enjoy it for what it is.
