    Ballester Molina restoration

I have a Ballester Molina I've owned for a couple of years. I have neglected her ever since the extractor broke at the range, and I haven't gotten around to fixing her . We'll now I've taken her out and found a spare extractor from Sarco and few other sites.

I really want to re-blue the pistol also, would you guys recommend cold bluing verses and hot bluing for this pistol and why?

Cold blue if you want a finish that won't last and you'll have to keep redoing.

Hot blue if you want an outstanding finish that will last for decades if properly taken care of.

    BTW,
Nice avatar but with a user name like yours you should look for Louie Blue Raspberry.

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

patina and honest wear = collectable = money

restored = shooter = diminshed value

Try cocaine, it is less expensive and less addictive.

Seriously, I would be interested in buying it if you are selling. Before you mess with it that is. Any chance you are in Norcal?

I'm down here in Socal. I'm more a shooter than a collector, I still view it as another pistol. I thought it would make for a cool project, I don't think the Ballester Molinas are worth much as a 1911. The sistemas (argentine) are the real clones of the Colt 1911.

In other words I'm not sure if restoring it would have a huge impact on the value. But I appreciate the offer nontheless. Im going to keep it. Might just fix the extractor and use her " as is".
