All serials are matching except for magazine. Again, doubtful any "re-manufactured" parts in this as it was in storage for a great deal of years by the person that brought it back from WWII.

It looks good. The extractor on a lot of Lugers look like that and the halo around the s/42 is a good sign the finish is original. Before you buy be sure every numbered part is matching. The hold open is the one that breaks first and it will effect the price. If a major part is incorrect then the price will drop by 1/2.

If what you say is correct you have a very nice Luger and is in excellent condition. The price mentioned before is a good range and will sell at that to a collector. Please do not shoot the gun.

Interestingly we have a 1938 S42 that also came with WWI (wood knob) magazine. Ours isn't nearly that nice though, only paid $700 for it. Don't sell it if you don't have to, they're hard to find in that condition. If you do, don't let it go for under $1500.
          Because milsurp.

No one was taken. She came to my son and asked if he might want it. She was going to give it to him, he declined and paid her for it after he asked her what she would sell it for(the only way he would take it from her).

Thanks though for thinking everyone is a scam artist and lumping my son into it.

He just showed concern for the old lady, didn't call you a scam artist, though I bet you royally ripped her off and are just trying to flip this.
