i got my first mosin about May, i think i pick up # 11 next week. i have sold or traded about half of them. i have made money on every mosin i sold. if you clean them up nice and do not mess it up you can sell a big 5 on sale mosin for a small profit.one i paid 120for and sold it for 300 cash.

No worries.. that is what this forum is for.

        Shoot it first.

Chances are the sights are more accurate than any of us are.

I only add a scope if I'm shooting out past 400 yards with my old eyes -

And if I'm shooting out past 400 -

        I'm not using a Mosin.

        Carry on...

The reason I even considered putting a scope on was that my coworker got a co2 pellet gun and we were shooting it at work, I really enjoyed shooting with the scope, it was a whole different way of shooting, so I was trying to replicate the experience on the cheap with my new mosin.

It's why I hang out on forums lots of people who know more then me, thanks for the input!

That's what I've come up with

That's what I've come up with in order not to ruin the original:

How is it shooting that? ^

It seems like it would be a tip-of-the-chin weld... the scout mount I have on one of mine already stretches my position from a cheek to a chin weld and it's nowhere near as high as that...

This one at least quite comfortable to me. Practically no stretch... But then, I'm not used to touch it with my cheek.
Without that AR-15 mount it was too low for me.

How well does it hold POI? It looks really "hung out in the wind" and vulnerable to bumps and bounces.

It was decent before I've mounted that AR-15 rings. It was not too comfortable for me though.
After I've mounted them I had no chance to put it to the test yet, we'll see.
