    Dutch students resistance corps...

They fought against the Belgians in the 1830's and still do exist.

    Guisan.
Fight to your last cartridge, then fight with your bayonets.
No surrender. Fight to the death.

crazy to think how much confessionalism played a part in european affairs until quite recently. now the only place in europe where being protestant or catholic is still an issue seems to be ireland.

Also Scotland, the source of most of the Irish Protestants!

When people say they are "Scots-Irish" they actually mean they are descended from "planters", basically protestant colonists brought in to civilize the country after the Jacobite rebellion.

Why you'd ever think a Scottish person could possible civilize anything is beyond me
      WTB Irish firearms:
old SxS shotguns, Enfields (Irish contract or FF marked), RIC marked carbines or revolvers, odd ball flintlocks.

They must have gotten a good deal on those I'm dutch and as soon as there's a good deal around we tend to be all over it, details then matter a bit less...

Would like to know more about this though, born and raised in Holland, lived there for 30 years, never heard of them (and it's a small country). Also, with the gun laws being as tight as they are over there i'm surprised they let these guys do the whole 'open carry thing'.

180 years later and they are almost ready for the French.

Unless they have an afternoon class or something.
