Mosin Nagant! Ouch!

The only mosin I've shot with terrible recoil is a 91/30 dropped into an ATI stock. That lighter and narrow stock was really annoying to shoot IMO; a strong nudge turned into a sharp jab.

Other mosins have just have a slight kick, though most people will feel sore afterwards because of that terrible buttplate. Carbines don't have anymore recoil than any long variants from my experience. I think the much more noticeable concussive blast will make some think that there is.

(snicker) You do know that in addition to little Russian conscripts, little Vietnamese women also shot these. As did my then-9-year-old daughter.

I really hate to pick, but dude, really? I think you are doing something wrong. Your rifle weighs the better part of ten pounds. Even with heavy ball machinegun ammo it shouldn't hurt that much.

On the rare occasion when I am able to get out to the desert and shoot my Mosins and SKS's, the last thing I am worried about is recoil.

The Mosin DOES kick like a beast. I just shoot 5-10 at a time and then set it aside for a while, going back to it after the shoulder rests.

Yeah, but to be fair, those Mosin ladies aren't shooting in t-shirts. Looks like they have about three inches of wool, batting and or stuffing between their shoulder and that steel butt plate.

I kind of like the kick from the Mosin but putting 200 rounds through mine in one session did leave my shoulder about five different colors. No biggie, I can't wait to do it again.

Mosin kick is nothing compared to my Serbu Super Shorty or a Lee Enfield Mk V Jungle Carbine.

I didn't serve, and even if you were at D Day, Khe Sanh, Saadam's foxhole, and Osama's burial at sea, you still don't get to say stupid stuff (and get away with it), especially since this is the internet, and, as I always assume, you are a 15 year old home from school with nothing to do. I am not going there yet. I am still stinging from Kestryll not allowing my first handle, which included the size of my pecker, the cars I own, my salary, and the name of all the Hollywood people I have "known". It really was more extreme than "navycorpsman".
