If any of you guys hand load you should come try out the military silhouette match on the 3rd saturday of the month at the Sac Valley range. Laid back and lots of fun. Then hang out after the match and keep shooting the steel.

The reason I say hand load is because FMJ is not allowed on the steel range.

Even if you never buy one C&R firearm, the $30 you spend will be the best $30 you can spend.

I've easily saved (from Brownells, Midway and other venders) over 10 times the C&R fee.

Plus it's pretty neat having rifles delivered directly to your door.

I'm kicking around the idea of going to Los Altos this Sunday. Anyone interested in a small unoffical C&R meet?

I've never been there and would love to go, especially since I'd love to shoot something other than paper. Unfortunately, we have guests this weekend.

Why not meet at the Cow Palace show this weekend at a set time, Shoulder a few long guns and go walk about with a dowel flag flying with a Calguns made flag for all the breathen to spot each other and chat. We could go from there with an informal meeting and splinter into area groups. SF/East Bay/Sac/SoCal/Etc. It's a start?? Lets get out in the open and not play mouse to the anti's 8) -g

                      C&R get together

I'm a new member to the site and just sent in my FFL paperwork but I think some get to gethers are a great idea. I have some idea's on meeting places that are free or next to free and are somewhat gun friendly. The two places that come to mind are the Moose and Elks Lodges. If some one among us is a member they can probably arrange it. I know they would probably be open to it because I have taken a few NRA instructor courses at the lodges, complete with guns.
I may also be able to host a get together at the gun club I belong to for a day of shooting(with authorization from the board of directors first). Let me know what you all think.
As for my C&R guns, I only have two but are very sentimental to me. They are both capture weapons. The K98 taken off a German in the Italy Campaign by my grandfather on my dads side and an Arisaka taken from a Jap by my granfather on my moms side in the Pacific. Once I get my FFL I plan on expanding on this modest colection.

I'm still interested, but am pretty busy for this month and next.

OnTarget, I shoot Arisakas all the time. We should meet at Los Altos gun range sometime. There is a Moose Lodge in Pacifica, but I'm not a member.

I'll be down, as long as the distance is reasonable. I'm in the bay area.

My buddy and I recently went shooting and he shot corrosive yugo ammo through his Mosin and figured he could just piss in the barrel and call it a day. Several days later the bolt was rusted shut but I guess the fouling wasnt TOO bad.
