    C & R get together??

SO after looking at some membership info from the Garand Collectors Association and seeing how many people are from CA, seeing how generally popular C&R has become and always checking out the "for sale" C&R got me to thinking...(which can be dangerous) how possible it might be to have a C&R get together every couple of months in Norcal (sacramento) for a dinner, social, swap meet kind of thing for C&R. I know a few issues that need to be addressed: a) Having complete strangers (in some cases) coming over to your house with guns, b) what happens if someone brings something illegal and cops show up because of paranoid neighbors and c)working 40 hrs, spending time with 2 kids and wife and house duties hwo to justify w/ wifey that this is time well spent planning.
Just curious to see what your opinions might be...thought this might be a good way to spend a friday at work

I wonder how well something like this could go over. Me personally, I just got my first 1944 M44 Mosin, and don't have anything else. But I think it would be pretty exciting to see what people have out there. Would be cool if there was a way to rent some hall for a decent price that wouldn't flip out over the fact guns would be there. But that's probably not very likely.

I'm down if we get something together.

        Before my C&R:
        Mosin 91/30
        Lee Enfield Mark 4 No1
        54 Tula SKS

        After my C&R:
        43 SA Garand-Correct
        44 SA Garand
        53 HRA Garand-Correct
        53 IHC Garand
        43 Inland Carbine
        44 Inland Carbine
        44 Underwood Carbine
        44 Winchester Carbine
        43 Rockola Carbine
        44 Quality Hardware Carbine-Correct
        42 1903 Springfield
        I think a 45 K-31

I'm missing a few but this is what i've gotten over the past year-ish so I have lots to share and it would be cool if we could do swap meet of part or something.

Just like Pokemon, gotta catch em all.

Still need a WRA Garand and like 5-6 other makes of carbines (including the ellusive Irwin Pederson)

I'd be up for something like that in the LA area.

I'd be happy to come to something like that. No C&R license, but I have a Mosin M91/30. Maybe I can leave with a larger collection?

Why not have the meeting at a range?

Recommend a range meet also. I have a modest C&R collection, but would like to try other types that I don't have, as I'm sure others would also.

Why don't you all just come out to the Panoche Hills Shoot tomorrow and bring your C&R's. I'm bringing a bunch of mine. Some FN49's, SVT-40, couple of Hakim's and some others. So come on out there.

I wish there was a meet closer to the Bay Area. I'm swimming in spare Arisakas.

In the past Jamie at surplusrifleforum has held a shootenfest or something to that effect at the Sac Valley shooting center. We had a 1919, BAR, tons of Garands, Nagants, FALs and other fun things there.

It was one of the best times shooting I've ever had
