Price point for purchasing a Mitchell's Mauser as just a shooter

Our shop has gotten a Mitchell's Mauser in the used gun rack. Yes, I know about Mitchell and his marketing BS. I know that his Mausers are mixmaster parts with new this and new that, not exactly original German WWII configurations. I know that.

However, I also understand that they are nonetheless good shooters, and this rifle looks to be in the fine condition that you'd expect a totally refurbished rifle to be in. This gun would be used at the range, out in the field hunting deer or whatever, etc, i. e. a workin' gun. I don't care that it doesn't have any collector value; it's for shooting, not bragging.

Given this, what would be a good price point for such a rifle?

Well, since you can get real nice WW2 Czech and Yugo capture 98k's and Russian capture VZ24's in the $300 range, Russian and Romanian captures for $400 or less, and a lot of other nice, original, and historic WW2 era Mauser variations with a combat history in the $300 to $450 range (I have a very nice original Spanish Civil War capture Polish Kar 98a and an equally nice and original Spanish Civil War capture Polish WZ29 for sale for $450 each), $300 to $350 would be fair for a Mitchell's Mauser to use as a shooter and/or for re-enacting.

with any gun I am looking at buying, I look at how much I could get for it right now, if I had to sell it in a pinch.

            $395

There are as many silly buyers as silly rifles, and MM stuff is shiny good looking.

What are other Mausers at your shop going for? I'd guess $250-$400 depending on the local market.

                Is it a K98 or an M48?

                  Ah, I don't know if it's a K98 or M48. I'll look.

We had an 8x57 Turkish Mauser (Model 93 action, I think) in there for about $150 as well.

Market value is whatever you are willing to pay for it.

Personally, $300 maybe $350 any decent shooting rifle in good shape, simply because guns are pretty damn expensive, and they aren't going to get any cheaper, or easier to get, any time soon.

Less $$$ is obviously better, but there are many ways you and I can mindlessly waste that extra $50 that might have kept you from getting a firearm.
Think about how much you last pizza order cost you, or how much the total was on your last trip through the drive thru window.

I'm just saying, I wouldn't worry too much about the initial price of a gun, get what you want, and get something you will use... and then go buy another!

Are you looking for a price to buy it for yourself, or a price to list it for sale?

I wouldn't mind one if I found one used for a decent price, been thinking for a long time about making a repro K98 Sniper, and they would be a good candidate, they have already been horked from a collector standpoint.

And you have to admit, they are pretty. Not original, not all that collectable, but nice to look at.

I dunno guys. A company that appears to be based on lies doesn't make me want to trust any other aspect of their "products". Personally, I wouldn't touch one of their guns, I'll take a battle worn gun any day.

Not all of them. Look it over closely. If this is one of the first ones he brought in it will probably have all matching parts.

It's only the ones he's sold in the last few years that are mix masters.
                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

My comfort zone would be between $250.00 and $300.00.
