When you screw down the sear/spring use some blue loctite. Keeps the screw from backing out, I've hear of a tendency for that to happen when people replace them because they can't tighten the screw as much as factory was.

FWIW, when tightening a sear on a Mosin, you will see the sear move clockwise slightly so that it ends up rubbing against the inside of the trigger. I take a small thin blade screwdriver about the size of the sear spring and use that as a spacer to hold the sear straight as I tighten the screw down with a big-honkin screwdriver. Even if you don't hold it straight you can go back after tightening and nudge the sear over a tiny bit so it isn't rubbing on the trigger. It does make a noticeable difference in trigger pull and feel.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

If you can do AK's (not all that complex itself) the Mosin is several times simpler and easier, as im sure you have discovered.
I had my extractor break off, its weird hearing about stuff breakin on these rifles period.
