$200 is a great price! -
Confirming the cut is under the front band? If so the common fix is to drill two holes in each of the stock pieces and insert wooden or brass dowels and glue the pieces back together. The stock will never be as strong as it was when original, however the fix is very strong.
Just no bayonet practice drills!!

I will tomm after i get off work. Its a clean duffel cut so shouldnt be overly difficult to repair. Just never held a all matching K98. I know most bringbacks at least have mismatched boltIf you Are not behind us, then take your place in front of us" Devil Doc, Corpsman Up!

Is there anything wrong with not repairing a duffle cut? Seems to be risky if it works fine.Comment

Yeah, from what I have read, the two are not mutually exclusive, right? Just because it had papers didn't mean it didn't need to be duffel cut to be brought back.
I've even read about rifles being duffel-cut, after the fact, to add to their authenticity. YMMV, though.I know I'm gonna get got, but I'm going to get mine more than I get got though.Originally posted by Enfield47I'm rooting for the allied team, I think we won last time but I can't remember. I just remember it was a lot of fun.

A Duffel cut, was cut to sneak home to the states, and 99% of the time will have a matching bolt.
Capture Paper rifles had the bolts removed for transport back to the states. Rifles and bolts didn't always get re-united.
But.....like all things Mauser, for every rule, there's always exceptions.
