I'm going to be driving over to J&G sometime in early to mid August. It's going to be a one day trip more than likely on a Saturday. If anyone is interested in car-pooling let me know. I'm in the West LA area. I'll have the exact date within a week or so.

I have a date for this trip now, it's going to be on Saturday August 11. I have a 7 passenger SUV so I can accommodate 6 other Calgunners. The only issue if we have a full house we might be limited to only purchasing handguns and ammo since the third row limits my storage space.

I drove out there alone last year. I left at 5am, stopped for a restroom break just outside of Palms Springs, had breakfast on the Arizona side of the Colorado, arrived at J&G around 1pm, had lunch/dinner in Prescott and was home around 9pm.

BruinGuy has already sent me a PM so I'll save him a spot. If anybody else is interested and can make it out on this date please send me a PM. Thanks.

I have some questions like; Can you pick from the inventory they have? I heard they have a fairly small shop so I'd like to hear more about how it is and if it is worth making a trip there.

It's a small shop but they have a HUGE warehouse. They'll go back and bring out 2-3 of each and you pick out the one you want. If you want to pay the extra for the hand select, I think they'll pick the best out 5 for you.

which C&R handguns or rifles are you planning on purchasing from J&G?

J&G is out of Cz-82 and MN hex receiver shiny bore guns.
I will be visiting J&G in Mid July on the way to Grand Canyon, already have a MN hex receiver on hold with them and also planning to pick up Nagant revolvers (already have 2 :-)).

Yes, bores will be dark. Last week they had an option for shiny bores for extra $30.
