    3rd Time's a Charm!

Finallly - After several tries, I'll finally got a decent gun from SAMCO!
    Let me review:
    * 1st gun from SAMCO; was a peice of crap, so it was sent back
    * 2nd gun from SAMCO; decent gun, too it out to the range-first shot-empty cartridge wouldn't eject-gun sent back.
    * - 3rd gun from SAMCO; well you be the judge!
(Haven't shot it yet, I'm hoping all functions well - keeping my fingers crossed)

Why - Most people (from what i've seen) had good dealings with SAMCO.
And to SAMCO's credit-made it right, no questions/no hassle.

The pic's don't really do it justice, it looks far better in person!
I could have said "screw-it" after the 2nd gun but that would've made eaiser on them and not me. So i decided to make them send me decent gun!

        What Mauser is that?

My k98 from SAMCO was acceptable.

Sorry - I should mentioned it; it's actually a M1916 Spanish Mauser. (Converted to 7.62 Nato)

I can't say I ever bought from them but, from your experience of "3rd time being a charm" and having to ship it back a couple of times seems to be a hassle. To bad Samco can't do it right the first time for the customer. In my opinion I would shy away from them. Perhaps buy some ammo through them instead. At least you know what you are getting. You do though have a nice rifle from them.....now.

I had a similar case with a K31. After the 2nd one they sent me it still had a cracked stock. That was about 5 years ago. I never have and plan not to go back. It took about a month before I was refunded.

Looks good Dennis - post again when you've taken it out. I've been tempted by those; relatively common ammo and under $200 shipped. Only way you could go wrong is if it was a total junker.

I would not say "charmed" until it went to the range and is determined to be accurate.[Insert Col. Townsend Whelan's quote here.]

I would love to know how it performs. I am looking into getting one.
                      Good luck!!!!!

Final thought: I know it would easier to forget the first time but that would had let them off the hook and I would had been out of a rifle. I figured I would be a pain in the butt to them (Samco) and make them give me a decent rifle. Call me stubborn

It looks a lot like a Swede M-38....

I dont know anything about Mausers other than 98ks...so is this the same m-96 action we're seeing there?

Mauser 95, same receiver dimensions as a Swede.
