    Walther P1 Markings Question

    Hey guys. Can you take a look at this photo of my P1 slide?

    The serial # has been crossed out and re-stamped. Which makes sense, since the slides get mixed and matched if the gun is re-arsenaled, right?

    But to me it looks like the crossed out number is the same as the new number - 161. What say you? Is it the same number? Why would they cross out and then restamp the same number?

      maybe it was coincidence (1:1000) in that they struck out the original serial without knowing what the remanufactured gun's serial would be and then lo and behold it's the same last three.
      odd thing is the fresher number looks homespun
      beyond that i have no idea : l

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
