I wonder if using a slide hammer would help and also prevent an accidental smacking of the barrel.

What is the tool I want to use on that? A brass pin? How can I get the sight mount to move without tearing up the finish?GREATER SACRAMENTO AREA REALTOR

Hello,Josh or any one else who knows mosin triggers I bought a Finn trigger off of gun broker from a guy in Helsinki Finland and I got it installed in my 53 m44 Hungarian it's tight and crisp trigger break but it's got a lonnnnnnng pull how can I shorten the pull and question 2 my 28 m91/30 had a ton of play in te trigger when coked like I can wiggle it fore and aft I swapped the trigger to the one from my m44 ad it's got less wiggle do I need a new trigger sear spring ?
Last question first, with a counter-question: What kind of trigger setup does it have? The M27, M28, and M39 all had some mighty interesting innovations.
Second question:
Finn bend it. Nothing radical though. Here:
Look at the bottom. The bend upward in the middle controls when the front pin contacts. You should have two different trigger feels: Long and light, then short and relatively crisp. The long and light is controlled by the rearward pin and the sudden letoff is controlled by the front pin contacting that upward bend in the middle.
Other than that, it is supposed to be longer than a sporting rifle. It's a military two-stage, but one that can be dialed in. (Mausers and others cannot be; this is an advantage of the Mosin's design.)
It will never be short and crisp without being potentially dangerous, or without spending lots of money.
On the upside, the second ("heavy") stage can be tuned to feel better than most other military rifles', and once you get used to a two-stage trigger, it's quite possible you'll end up preferring it!
Let me know if I can be of further help.
Regards,

Took the Mosin Hex Bill repaired to the range today. Loads and feeds perfect. Shoots straight and true. The problem is once the round is fired the bolt is hard to open and even harder to pull back and eject the round.
I'm shooting some no name brass ammo since the range doesn't allow surplus. After discussing it with Bill, we think it might be the ammo expanding and sticking.
Next time at the range I'll sneak in a few surplus rounds and I'll also bring another Mosin to try the brass rounds in and all of my bolts to see if we can narrow the problem down.Originally posted by MunkThis is akin to saying that the silver lining of being raped is, "hey, at least you're getting laid."Comment
