    My Swiss K31 Scope Install

I completed my Swiss K31 Scope installation today! After many hours of research (Calguns, Swiss Rifles, etc.), this is the finished product.

Swiss Products Aluminum K31 Clamp-On Scope Mount
Vintage Weaver K6 60-C Scope (6x fixed; 1" steel tube, thin cross hairs; El Paso glass)
Warne 7.3/.22 Series Steel Scope Rings #721M (Black Matte, Medium Height)

The K6 scope is 13 5/8" in length, 1 15/16" outside front bell diameter. The Warne medium height steel scope rings just clear the rear open sights, but it does have clearance. I wanted to mount the scope a low as possible, but have rear sight clearance and this worked. I can adjust the eye relief, as well.

I'm very happy with the K6 vintage look/feel and love the Swiss Products Clamp-On Scope Mount on my K31!

Outstanding! Is that an El Paso glass?

It looks good? Does it move around or wiggle? Does it scratch the frame?

Great set up! I've been scrounging Weaver/El Paso glass off of the internet just to top off all my Swiss rifles with vintage glass, have four or five now. I've had my K-4 w/post reticle on one of my K31s for a year now, it shoots lights out. I have a Weaver K2.5 with a Lieschert conversion on it that is going on my 1911sr as soon as Swiss Products mount ships from Graf's. You are going to love how your k31 shoots with that scope set up

            That looks great!

after you take it out, can you let us know how it shoots?

Looks good! I have the same set up except for the scope. It barely clears the front sight also. Been solid and has not moved after 200 rounds.

                  Thanks for the + feedback!

The Swiss Products Clamp-On Mount is a very precision assembly. It attaches with a small clamp in the K31 thumb slot and aligns solidly to the right side of the receiver. No rattles, no loose hardware, no scratches to receiver and no drilled holes...very ingenious!

The Vintage Weaver K-series scopes are an all-time favorite. I planned on using the K4, but found a good deal on the K6. They have steel tubes and caps (no plastics), which the Swiss would appreciate. Both are good scopes and easy to find on Ebay, etc.

The Warne "medium" height (.406") ring was my biggest concern for clearances, but I was lucky and they just fit.

My total scope project cost was under $200, which saves me money for my next K31!

I put a inexpensive (cheap) Tasco on my K31 just because it was the only scope sitting in my vault when my mount arrived. I just wanted to try it out -- went 10/10 on the rams with it at the VMRSS match last time I shot. I may get a "good" scope eventually, but this sure shoots well as it sits!

Nice shooting...10/10 on rams. I'm sure my K31 is up for it, as long as I do my part. I'll take it to the range this week and post the results.

Those are Warne 7/3 rings, yes? Is the scope mount slotted or does clamp pressure hold the rings in place?

                            dfletcher:
The scope rings are listed as - Warne Scope Mounts "7.3 Series" Permanent Ring 1" Med Matte #721M. They are priced at $26.99 at Brownells. This is not to be confused with a Brownells/Warne 7.3 Ring that is heavier duty with four mounting screws (2 each side) that is priced at $39.99. Just search for the Warne #721M rings.

After installing the Swiss Products Clamp-On Mount, the scope rings clamp to a 3/8" dovetail rail on the top of the mount. The rings can slide on the dovetail for adjustment. Hope this helps.

Blasphemy! How dare you put on a cheap Chinese (I think they are no longer made in Japan) scope to a finely made mechanical devices.

Did you fix that extra tight lockup on that new Garand?
