    Here endeth the sales pitch...

My first Mauser, wonderful rifles. I still kick myself for not getting a M96 when Big 5 was selling them for $99. And I still REALLY want a M41b

Aren't they built off of drill receivers?
Yeah, but how the US converted them to Drill rifles, it really doesn't mean anything. The just tack welded them in a couple places, which had no effect on the strength of the action.

They are original actions, with refinished stocks, and a new barrel.

I don't know. The ad doesn't mention that.
      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

My next purchase is going to be a K-31, should have it next weekend, they are getting harder to find but I tend to agree with the above posts, the swedish mauser is an awesome piece, I have 2.

The ones AIM sells are from Gibbs, I believe. Gibbs does use reclaimed drill rifles. They have been selling them for a long time, and I have never heard of any problems with one.

There was some discussion of the subject, including a statement from Gibbs here:

Instead of me giving you ideas on what to get with your C&R, I can give you this idea. Follow your heart with curiosity and read up on the weapon of your choice. No matter what it may be, it will have it's own uniqueness.

The No4 MKI have the Battle sights. Flip for 300 or 600 yd.

The MkII & III have a nice flip up adjustable sight 100-800+ yd. Easy turn knob screw adjustment. Much easier to shoot IMO.
The Bores are bound to be better in the newer ones too. If it has an FTR stamp on it & looks newish, you probably have a real keeper. FTR = Factory Thorough Rebuild.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

If you want a Swiss rifle, you should go with a K31 or maybe a 1911. If you want a Swedish rifle, the Swedish Mauser is the way to go.

                          Very nice collection!... and Welcome!
The best way to find the true average of a rifle type's perfomance is to watch the shoot results at Quantico and Camp Perry.
The Enfields haven't been ahead of the k31s or even the 1911s at all, and generally speaking, the 1911 (in the hands of a shooter) edges the k31s most of the time.

that's like bringing Megan Fox to a party and your friend says "nice date".

I LOVE that polish Kar98. I would guess that's the most valuable in the collection.
