    C&R handgun question

    with a Certificate of Eligibility
    (for Curio and Relic transactions only);

    So my question is did the gun store, and me, screw up by missing the fact that it says WITH A CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY and I really needed a HSC to legally make the purchase?

    Yes.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

      So, go to a gun store, spend $25 and 15 minutes and get an HSC. Good for 5 years and you don't need to worry about it any more.

        Or Don't. A HSC isn't required to own a pistol, and the dealer screwed up here, the OP didn't.

        Don't give the state a cent if you don't have to.

            Getting a HSC wasn't an issue or worry of mine. I got it a few weeks after this transaction in order to purchase a newer handgun. I was just making sure that I read the law right the second time around and that even with my FFL03 I still needed a HSC to purchase any handgun C&R or not.
