Dr.Mauser's first of many C&R shoots

So as many of you know, I'm trying to put together a range day for us Mauser maniacs, I'm in Sacramento and have only ever been to the Cordova Shooting Center if there's a better range I'm up for that as well. This is an open invitation, anyone is welcome to join. Please let me know if your interested so I can get a head count and set all the details. I want this to just be a fun day on the range showing off our various Mauser rifles and shooting skills. Let's get a group together and have a great time!

I'm in. You might look at Yolo. Its between Davis and Woodland, so a shorter drive for anyone coming from the Bay Area. Also its much nicer than Cordova.
        Because milsurp.

You ought to do it at the County range north of Reno. Shoot at steel out to 950 yards....

So carpool. It is about 3 hours each way from sac, and the range fee is only $8.

In fact, you drag your butt up here, I will cover your range fee, and spot for you when you shoot at the 950 yard gong.

I could possibly attend depending on the date, and hopefully I'll be able to buy that bnz45 by then....

It probably won't happen until the middle or end of the month, I'm trying to give everyone time enough to order ammo, get their guns (rojo) and to make sure they'll have time.

It is north of Sparks on Pyramid Highway, The public line goes out to 200 Yards, with target holders at IIRC 15, 25, 50, 100 and 200 yards. There is hanging Steel plates at 300, 400, 500, 600, and ~950 yards (2 each at 300 and 400, one on each side). The 500 had fallen down when I was there Saturday, but I assume they will fix it eventually.

No Ammo restrictions that I am aware of, after all, it is the desert. There really isn't much to burn. They do allow full auto, so you may get lucky and see something cool (there was a guy with a Browning 1919 on a tripod a few months ago). Not sure about 50 BMG, if you have one you may want to call.

Nice concrete benches, with a covered firing line. The only thing the range really lacks is sandbags, so bring them if you have them.

I have seen some complaints online about the range master, but I have been there easily 30 times and never had any negative encounters with any of them. All quite friendly. That being said, if you do something stupid, like approach the shooting bench while people are downrange, expect to get hollered at over the PA.

Palomino Valley Gun Club holds a number of matches there, out to 1000 yards. http://palominovalleygunclub.homestead.com/

Probably not, unfortunately. That is a 2 1/2 hour drive for me, which is a long way to go to only shoot 100 yards.

Do you have a date in mind?

Seriously though, come to Reno, Cessnapilot89, you can drive him up, right?

On Edit: In fact, if you guys want to try and get up here, I will bring a cooler of water/sodas and lunch fixin's for everyone.
