$1,000+ if it is as clean as you describe. More if it is NM or unique.

$625 - service grade H&R from the CMP

SERVICE GRADE: (Good to Very Good)
Service Grade Rifles show less wear and better appearance than Field or Rack Grades. Good to very good condition. Rifle wear will be exhibited by worn and mixed colors of the parkerized finish. There may be some minor pitting on the metal parts. Wood will be either Walnut, Birch, Beech or other variety and will be basically sound but may have minor hairline cracks, dings, scratches and gouges. Wood may not match in color or type of wood. Wood may be of new production on Service Grade Garands. Bores will be generally good with only minor imperfections. The barrel crown may be nicked, but the muzzle will gauge "3 or less" and the throat erosion will gauge less than 5.

You are going to have to pay a heck of a lot more in the private market, probably 850 minimum, more like 1k at most gun shops.

here are some recent HRA service grades from CMP... the description I quoted above is extremely conservative, most rifles are above and beyond that criteria in condition.

        $625 and $24.95 for shipping

Other than that, more info is needed. For example, the manufacturer of the receiver and other parts, the pictures of the condition, throat/muzzle erosion.

I am looking at a RELLY nice HRA with all mixed parts (SA and HRA) , MINT bore (1 or less) , refinshied GI dark wood ( matching color handguard)

The rifle has moslty mixed parts (no commercial parts , all GI)

You've described a good sample of a current service grade from CMP. $650 from CMP, or, since you're not looking at the luck of the draw, $700-800 from the private market. I saw people paying up to $1000 for this, but then, a lot of people paid $600 for a used Glock 17 Gen 3

I paid over $1000 for my H&R mix master, 1954 receiver with a 10/53 LMR barrel. It was unfired in a nice GI stock and still dripping cosmoline in and out. Probably an arsenal rebuild or assembled out of NOS parts. Here she is in a new Boyd's stock with matching 07 junkyard dog...

If that gun is a mixmaster then that means that it was shot in the past. There would be no reason to replace parts if the gun was unfired. Cosmo doesnt mean new, just unfired since the last storage.

Pick up the CMP service grade. Almost all of them are at or above what you are looking for.

If you had a nice USGI stock why would you replace it? Just wundering. Sometimes you do find a stock that is worth pulling off to resell. Like a WRA that went for $1200 a couple years ago on eBay OR you may want to save the USGI wood instead of screwing it up. Luckily I still have some sets of USGI handgurds and a stock or two left, just "incase". I keepem GI, when I was still actively collecting Garands I learned how to redo the stocks in a GI fashion, a great learning experience. The new stocks weren't available or were of poor quality then.

$650 through CMP, $700-$800 private party. If I found one locally for $700 and could verify the throat and muzzle erosion was to CMP service grade specs, If I liked it and really needed it now, I might buy it. But as long as CMP has them, that would be my limit.
