I've regretted EVERY gun I've sold.....

Not going to hell. It will find a home with someone who will feel very blessed.

You would only go to hell if you turned this over for a $100 Gift Card for groceries at an annual Anti-2nd Amendment "gun buy back".

Then you would have a special throne in the Royal Palace of Hell. Azazel and his friends are watching what you do next VERY closely.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

You will be able to find another one down the road, the beauty of the SKS is that there are tons of them out there and they were set aside quickly for the AK. My brother bought our Chinese SKS for something stupid like $89 back in the day and it was still in the wrapper.
I sold my pre 64 Winchester model 70, my Marlin 45-70 and a Savage 111 in 7mm mag last year. The later can easily be replaced when funds allow. The model 70 I regret but it was well worn and I didn't have much use for it.

Sell your car instead. Buy a bike.

Mine is a Factory 26 as well. If it doesn't sell by next month I might just go crazy and "help you out."

Its too sentimental, kinda like an old pair of levis. I remember shooting that thing all the time back in the 90s. Its a bump-firin sumbich. We got it so hot one day the shelac melted off the front of the stock and the handguard. I would have never thought anything could have stood up to that kind of abuse...

                          I understand. I'm a car guy first.

You were part of my inspiration in buying the SKS. I really don't need a second though.

I did sell a car I really loved and still regret it. Oh well

Hey, lots of SKS's around. A lot of them in good shape, too. You'll get another (better!) one later.

Of course, if you can swing it, go into "crazy hyper-save mode" for a bit. You know: candles for light; jacket for warmth in the house; hit Costco on the weekends for free samples, which takes care of lunch both days; Starbucks for free sugar, napkins, and honey; and Ikea every day for their .99 breakfast. You'll have that $400 made up in no time!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
                            Come on...what harm??

Aw, too bad it's not C&R. I'll be heading down to Socal next week, but it would have had to be cash and carry.
