Never had any problems using the copper washed or S&B ammo in my SKS.
Like stated before push down near the primer end of the casing.
Check the rifle magazine follower and spring also. Could be binding.
    Best of Luck

I never had any trouble using stripper clips on any real SKS or Norinco. They always work find when loading AK mags too.

But the Yugo 59/66 didn't like stripper clips much.

      The Yugo has moved on.

I noticed that the Yugo was picky about stripper clips. The Yugoslavian brass case 7.62x39 on stripper clips worked fine in the 59/66 and steel case was okay when reloaded on those same clips. The cheap Chinese clips wouldn't work well in the Yugo but all clips work with my Norinco and Tula. One of the quirks of my Yugo ...

I just picked up a 20 pack myself, they are folded far too tight. I resorted to unbeding them slightly by using a very scientific, tried and true method: put a steel cased round (preferably spent) into the tight clip, turn it side to side to loosen the fold then move it along the track a bit and repeat until it feeds smoothly.

If arthritis is an issue, put a dowel or steel rod inside spent case to get leverage.

I spent a few hours cleaning up this pack of 20 new strippers. As you suggested, after cleaning, I put a drop of clp on it and worked it under the lips with a brush. Then ran a spent brass shell back and forth 40 times in each one. Work MUCH smoother. When I went to try them out, the darn things won't fit at all into the slot on a russian bolt and just barely into a Yugo with a lot of force. Was wondering what to do now? Throw these strippers away and get new ones? How do I know what I get next won't be just as tight? Another thought was to remove the Russian bolt (since it is the tightest) and use its stripper slot as a forming die and hammer the strippers back and forth. Could I wear/damage the bolt doing that? Thank you all for your help.

Excellent suggestions, only thing I add along with the "one swift push down"

I notice most of the time very little pressure works better than cramming it, don't force it. When it's right it goes down smooth.

You might try only putting 7 or 8 rounds into the clip. I noticed that helps sometimes also.

You say they came in a pack of 20 clips? All the SKS's stripper clips I have ever bought were in packs of 10. Maybe they were mislabeled and are for some other rifle. They should load with very little effort and load the same. Good luck.

It's your business but, why do you want stripper clips? The only purpose is for loading fast for in combatant situations. Then you throw them away.

Well, to be honest 0321jarhead, you ask a good question. I never had a problem loading one by one. And I was fine with that. Then as a bday present I got a chinese ammo vest that has 10 pockets for 10 SKS strippers. That got me interested. And that got me frustrated because I had read that some were sure they could load a stripper clip faster than change a magazine. My intent was just to be CAPABLE of speed loading from strippers as the weapon was designed. I can't imagine that any army would accept the stripper clips I got except perhaps the opposing army!

Stripper clips are much easier to use than boxed ammo. You don't get your thumb smashed after each round loaded. As you have loaded an SKS you know the bolt has a tendency to close on you as you feed ammo in. Then there is keeping the range clean. Those stupid little pieces of paper that come in the 7.62 x 39 boxes blow away as soon as you pick any ammo out of the box.
