    CZ-82 from J&G

I just picked up CZ-82 from J&G, on my trip to Grand Canyon. I wanted to get a Nagant Revolver but all the good ones are all sold out, only ones remaining have horrible bores, so i picked up CZ-82 very good condition one instead.

I do not know much about this gun expect, its Czeck police/military gun. Are these guns good?

What do you guys think about CZ-82s?

    thanks

They have polygonal rifling so if you look down the barrel you wont see any grooves and it will look smooth but dont worry thats how its supposed to look. My CZ-82 was my first handgun cuz it was cheap but ive since fallen in love with it because of the accuracy and amazing reliability of the firearm.... and the ammos cheap too...

A friend of mine and a well known guy in the shooting industry picked up a couple of them, they really like them. I saw video of the using them in i think IDPA in Colorado. They say they are super accurate, I've been thinking of buying one myself.

They are awesome shoots very well and is nice and compact.

Only bad thing is how crap the finish and sights are.

Great guns for the price. I peruse quite a few different gun forums and it seems that quite a few people use them as their concealed carry weapon.

I love mine. They shoot 9x18 caliber ammo. Regular 9mm Luger or Parabellum. is 9x19. Did you pick up any of the 9x18.

This is not a round big5 or walmart carries. The gun shop I get it from charges 19 bucks a 50 round box.

Great guns. I have owned 2 but I am done to one right now. Very accurate and very fun to shot. You did well Grasshopper.
              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

They are excellent pistols. Just do the basic field strip for cleaning. Removing the slide and the firing pin are easy. Beyond that and you can get into trouble unless you know what you are doing. It's a complicated pistol and if you don't get it back together right, you'll have a nonfunctional gun. If you must do a full disassembly, check here first:
I am going to pick up my first CZ-82 tomorrow. I have been searching the internet for awhile, but I could not find any instruction that show me how to completely take CZ-82/83 apart. Anyone out there know how, please post your instruction here. Thank you very much. Cal

After reading your post, it dawned on me that this forum doesn't have a thread with video's or links to videos to take guns down. Every gun that cal gunners own should be on it with tips and tricks. What a great resource this would be.
A great draw to the site also.

How do you go about registering it in CA, or is it exempt as a C&R?

Raptor3000 was able to acquire the handgun while outside of California because he is a C&R FFL and the CZ-82 is a C&R firearm. Upon returning to California with it he has five days to send in a special form to CalDOJ along with $19 to register the handgun.

I bought one last July while I was on Vacation in Az. Fun little gun but not as fun as my .38x0 Makarov

I like it over the makarov mainly because it doesnt have that european mag release and its got ambidextrous mag releases...

I picked one up a little over a year ago, I really like it though we noticed it's recoil was harsher than expected and it launched brass into the next zip code. We determined a worn recoil spring was the problem, wolf makes replacement recoil springs in several weights. Night and day difference.
