Hand gun registration problem

Anybody run into this? I'm trying to buy a CZ52 from a fellow Calgunner. We went to Just Guns to do the PPT. They couldn't find the caliber, 7.62x25 on the DOJ list, so couldn't finish the paper work. They and the seller called DOJ, left messages, but haven't heard back. Not sure what to do next

PPT handgun does not need to be on the list.

There's a field on the form that requires an entry for caliber. It's not a matter of the gun being on the list.
I bought a Webley No.5 in ".360CF", which was not an option, so my FFL just selected .455 (cause it was one of the options for Webley, I guess). So my copy of the DROS form incorrectly says ".455 caliber".
I'm curious how the DoJ will deal with this issue.

I don't think so. Two different guys at the gun store looked. We talked about comparable calibers also. I don't get why they don't have an "other" option. If you buy a C+R handgun out of state, you just write the caliber on the registration form.

If that worked I would start looking for other .30 caliber offerings.

There was no "other", they both looked.

Strangely the smallest 7.62 listed was 7.62x39. Not sure why that would be on a handgun page. If I remember right the 7.62x25 round is slightly stepped, I'll have to check the ammo we bought for our Tokarev when I get home. So, I don't think there's any .30 cal. that's like that.
Maybe we should just say its .30 cal. and let it go at that. I doubt anyone at DOJ even knows what a CZ52 is anyway

There are AK pistols. Basically looks like an AK rifle but no real stock and short barrel.

Eljay, I forgot about AK pistols, good call. Vlad, I've never seen .30 Mauser. Did they make a .30 handgun?
The story from DOJ is leave the caliber section blank and add it to the comments section. We'll give that a try tomorrow. I'll let you know how it works out.

30 Mauser was the caliber of the Mauser broomhandle; although after the P08 Luger was developed, many broomhandles were made in 9mm.

Got the deal done yesterday. They put 9mm in the caliber box, couldn't leave blank. Then added note with the correct caliber. I'll post some pics in 10 days or so.

30 Mauser was the caliber of the Mauser broomhandle; although after the P08 Luger was developed, many broomhandles were made in 9mm.

And many P-08 Lugers were chambered in .30 Mauser too.
