Guys, maybe you have seen this thread that I put up the other day.

However, I forgot to mention that the original reason of taking the pics was to showcase the re-done stock on this Mauser. It was done about 11 months ago, and prior to that, it looked like any other old nasty RC. The wood on it has darkened a little bit, which happens with time.

I just wanted to contribute to the pool of refinished Mauser pics. They really do clean up nicely.

Its a good feeling to return a rifle to nearly original condition. Even my wife thinks it looks good. Still working on the ZV52. Need to determine the correct color of finish for it. Have an Enfield revolver that needs refinishing aswell. It looks like someone covered it with black paint. Not sure what the correct finish is, but this one is chipping off. Part of the process is doing the research. You learn some of the history that way, which is part of the fun for me.

How is the truck lining crap coming off?

Are you going to make a separate thread for that one?

I managed to get about 98.85% of the Bedliner off of it before I left, it just needs further sanding. There were alot of random carvings made in the wood where someone scrawled messages. Looked like someone wrote it with a needle or something, very fine lines in the wood but they're rather deep. Not sure what they mean, perhaps something done by a bored Czech solider, I'm pretty sure it's not any sort of factory marking.

Perhaps Dad will put up a new thread and pictures of it, it's up to him, heh.

              Sehr Gut!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.
