Quite a few series of Type 38 rifles left the arsenals with polished (non-blued) bolts. Depends upon when and where the specific rifle was made. That is why I requested that the owner post a photo of the series and arsenal marks, located at each end of the receiver serial number. Geologyjohn

It was not a dupe. You gave a link to the board where they might be able to find the article in question, though your post was about arisakas in general. My link was directly to the article, as it pertained to the topic of my post. So, not a dupe. And the final sentence of that posting was a Princess Bride joke.
Now, as for the bores and bullet sizes, good bores on Arisakas are not that uncommon. And the correct bullet size is .263", though a .264" bullet can be used with no problems. The .268" bullets are for Carcanos, and should NEVER be used in an Airsaka, or anything other than a 6.5mm Carcano. And then only with the correct load data for the .268" bullets. Cast bullet for it should be in the .265-.266" range, max.

To make it clear, after I read post #9 - I went looking for the article on the Arisaka finishes. You posted the link at post #10. After I found the article and read it, I posted it in at #11. When I looked at it, I saw that you had beat me to posting it, so I removed it and just put "dupe".
So you still offended?Comment

Ahhhhh... No, I thought you were calling my post a dupe. Sorry. The dupe police are out in force on here, and I thought I was getting picked on for posting the link.To make it clear, after I read post #9 - I went looking for the article on the Arisaka finishes.
