Yup, pretty easy to load through the top of the receiver when the bolt is pulled back. Just push a round straight down and it pops into the magazine. I've never had one of the stripper clips.

I know the owner and the rifle. The owner is a stand up guy and the rifle is a great shooter. You won't be disappointed.

I had two of my K31s out today for a shoot.


1952 with a left hand adapter


1943 with clamp on scope and Nikon 3-9x scope

Latigo will recognize both accessories! They are well worth the money. The LH adapter is the coolest thing ever for a lefty. Not only does it move the bolt handle to the proper side but it gives a touch more leverage to opening the action.

The name and address of the Swiss soldier to whom the K31 was issued is not uncommonly found on a slip of paper under the steel butt plate. It was on mine. Some people have actually written to and heard back from the former issuant. With Swiss ammo, old eyes and iron sights, windage was spot on and about 3" high at 100 yds.

Ok so now I need to know where can I get an Authentic Sling, how to field strip it and the mechanics.

Also talk to me more about the clamp on scope. How much do those go for and does it really hold zero?

K31s are the best surplus rifles out there. Don't worry at all about stripper clips. I have 3 K31s, an 1889 and no stripper clips. That does not bother me at all.

ahhh very nice I see on Grafs that the ammo is quite reasonable. Now what about a cleaning kit and sling? Like to bring her back to original form and take her out shooting

Skser your lucky. I was thinking of picking up that K31 but the only thing holding me back was the drive up there to pick it up. I already do have a nice 1939 walnut stock Sig K31. Have fun with it.

Lol yeah maybe a bit lucky, was really on the fence between a m44 or k31. I think I made a good choice.
