Google Mauser firing pin. I'm sure you'll find a video on how to do it. Its been a while since I did one, but I think the pin only goes in one way.
    Because milsurp.

You can use a block of spare wood. If no wood, a few rags down a hard surface will do.

I was beginning to take apart my mauser bolt and stopped. I was like how the heck do I do this.

I'll probably go through what you did soon enough.

At 7:50 in this video http://youtu.be/9xo0zHiC-cs you can see that the safety lever is freely mobile. You have to have it in the up position then. Push down and you can screw in the cocking piece. Is your cocking piece on or off because I don't know what you mean.

Paulie, I'm impressed that you broke off the firing pin tip. Those things are thick. What were you pressing against???

                            Pictoral

Personally, I like the SurplusRifle.com, step by step pictorals over Youtube videos. Too often in the videos their hands are in the way. Sometimes the video commentary will help clear stuff up, so both together are usually golden.

SurplusRifle.com may be gone, but their stuff is still cached out there. Here's a working link for Mauser bolt disassembly and reassembly. I print out the rifle and bolt instructions for each of my Milsurp's, and for the ones I want, but have yet to buy.

If you look at the menu to the right, there's a working link to download a .pdf that you can save/print.

Let's just say my downward force got a little bit sideways and I bent the tip of the pin over. Truthfully it didn't break off, but it might as well have. This was on our Argentine Mauser which doesn't have the hole in the stock. After I got another pin, I used our 98k stock hole to install it.
