    Wallmounting a mosin...

My better half told me that since I have a lot of mosins, I should put one up over the mantle or something. Or wall mount it over the couch.

So, I pieced together a 91/30 out of spare parts, took out the spring, and welded the receiver throat so you can't feed a round (the barrel was already shot, and this was strictly parts gun).

My question is... what is the best way to mount it? I would like more of the gun to be visible, so maybe 2 thin hooks to hold it? Anyone have any good links for wall mounts?

Drapery hold-backs are a cheap and elegant solution. They come in a zillion shapes and finishes and are usually only about $10-15 a set.

        You're a Lucky Lesser Half!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

Thanks! Also, thanks guys for the tips on drapery hooks - that's more of what I am going for, I suppose. I'll need to line them with felt or something similar

A lot of the hooks are skinny enough that you could probably even unscrew the ornamental bauble from the end, slip a rubber shrink tube over the end, then put the bauble back on and shrink the tube in place.

Here is how I started out with ruberized hooks and "reworked them a bit.

It's a Mosin, nail it to the wall. I would go with a couple old square cut nails right thru the sling slots.

I like that. Kinda has that baddass element like tearing a towel rack out of the wall to beat the crap out of someone.

This is a neat idea. This is clear plastic. You make something like this out of metal or wood.
