From what I can see and remember without getting out my books it looks like you have a very nice all original Carbine.
      Take good care of her.
Get a oiler and install the sling correctly
      Very Nice ,Congrats

Quality Hardware received all their barrels form the free barrel exchange program. So, that barrel is probably the original barrel.

It's been sitting for years so I just wiped it down with a cloth for the pics. I'll go over it with a nice coat of oil here soon. (and fix the sling, I wasn't aware)

I wasn't sure what year the gun was mfg'd so wasn't sure about the barrel.

It looks like there's a couple book to purchase if you want to know 100% for sure about the M1. (I'm looking for someone with those books to confrim my pics)

                  Thanks again

I am very happy to have this and the other items I found in the old bags. I also have military ammo that was issued to him for I'm assuming this rifle.

I have a 2 questions about the military ammo:

                      1. can I get in trouble for having military issued ammo

                      2. " that also have special types of tips

                      Thanks

                      Matt

I'm happy I found this forum after being away from shooting for many years.

Look around for information and email James if you have any questions. He's actually doing a few surveys to help him build his M-1 Database. Good luck! Nice piece.
