Are antique firearms (over 100 years old) like say an 1986 Krag required to be logged in the book and treated just the any other C&R? I thought I've seen it somewhere that anything over 100 years old are not considered firearms by the BATFE. School me please.

100 years old has nothing to do with it.
Firearms made prior to 1899 are considered "Antiques" and do not need to be listed in your BB.
If you buy something made in 1899 and up that is C&R you need t log it.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

You could have a situation where a seller ships you a rifle he believes is a C&R and apon receipt and inspection of the rifle, you discover it is a antique. My understanding is in that case you would log the firearm into your bound book and then note "stricken from records, antique" Finnish Mosin Nagants is an example. The barrel shank is dated in plain view with one date.....but, as most, but not all collectors know, the date of the receiver is hidden from view and requires dissasembly to see mfg date under the tang.
Not ever seller will want to bother doing that to see the tang date and they will just go by the date on the barrel shankComment
