Well I sent my order in a second time. The nice customer service lady told me to send it to her and she'd put me at the top of the list this time around.
So I received my rifle (while I was gone on a business trip, my GF signed for it). The serial number is 559,777 (and it's a SA). I checked this site, and according to it, my rifle was built in April 1942. Is that correct? If so, I think that is really cool. I never expected to get a WWII Garand! Perhaps the customer service lady made sure I got a good one... Well, maybe that's a stretch, as some may not consider older better, but I do. I really appreciate the history in this rifle.
