C&R in Nevada

So my mother lives in Nevada and purchased some rifles from her neighbor. She told me he was selling them at a yard sale. So I was telling her, "what?? you cant just buy a rifle like that!" and she told me what it was. It was a mosin. so ok... she could.

But today she tells me she bought a 1953 CZ 52. I think in Cali you still need to do a PPT for a C&R pistol, but a rifle is cash and carry. Im concerned for the legality of her purchase. Does anyone know the laws in Nevada for C&R pistol?

how much? I have a C&R license and could purchase it from her in NV....

I'm not understanding what the issue is. Did she buy it from the same guy? You have a pretty cool Mom if she's buying up random guns.

I'm pretty sure in Nevada it doesn't if a gun long gun or handgun is C&R or not. No matter what the year is all guns are Cash&Carry in Nevada for private sellers. It's called freedom I know it sounds weird here in California but it does exist.

Not only that but if your Mom lived in Reno and the seller lived in Vegas; the seller could ship ANY firearm (other than NFA) right to her. No need to ship to a dealer if the buyer and seller are in the same state.

IF you have a C&R it would be better for you to go and get them. With a C&R you can bring in both guns back to CA. You would need to pay the $19 reg for the handgun but nothing is required on the rifle.

IF you don't have a C&R Mom can bring them to CA to give you.

HOWEVER, seeing as you are residents of different states Federal Law requires that the transfer be done @ a dealer in the home state of the receiver. These transfers ARE NOT PPT's. The LGS doing the transfer may charge you what ever he wants for this service.

If you don't have a C&R get one. I guarantee that the cost will be lower than the price for a transfer dealer.
