An Inland M1 carbine. There used to be a guy that sold them at the San Jose gun shows. He used to give the best deals on them. They used to be $100 to $175! He's no longer around. He either kicked the bucket or retired.

I picked up my first C&R when I was a starving college student, I couldn't pass up a $29 M44. My regret is that I didn't learn my lesson then and start picking things up when they hit the market and were dirt cheap. I swore to myself that I wouldn't let good deals I could afford pass me by, I'm finally sticking to it, bringing me to my next regret: not buying a larger safe.

Sold a Mauser sporter magnum square bridge action rifle finished by Charles Lancaster London in .280 Ross with express sights for $135. I bought it for $75 so I thought I had done well (I was 20). The same rifle today would be $4,000 or so. More recently I sold an all correct M1 rifle from December 1941. Looked pretty much test fired only and had the front sight screw plug and the original blackening on the gas cylinder. Wish I had kept it.

I feel regret for every single firearm I had ever sold. But regarding C&R's I should have bought up every m44 I could get my hands on when I bought my first for $49 on sale at Big5. I didn't even shoot it for 7 years (it was battered and I didn't know anything about them). But I was HOOKED after shooting it at the range.

An MO double date ex-sniper at big 5 for $79. A 1943 Izhevsk M38 in an M38 stock at another big 5 for $139 (that was last year, my friend bought it). An m24 "lotta" for $125 a couple weeks ago. Not jumping on the CMP M1 carbine bandwagon.

I regret buying a Yugo m24/47. Its a cursed rifle. I bought it years ago because my wifes uncle builds custom hunting guns from mauser actions. I wanted a sweet custom 22-250 for predator hunting. The day it arrived, my dog died from a mysterious illness. Later, I found out he wouldnt build me a rifle because its "for family only". Ive only put 5 rounds through the thing since I got it and its been over 2 years.

only kinda sorta C&R but man I kick myself for not picking up cheap $99 or less SKS rifles in the early 90s

There was no internet, I figured they must be junk, but I was just a punk college kid and thought I knew everything

I picked up one of those Yugo Mausers a while back from Big-5 when they were a 'Deal' price
Never shot it much / So it stayed in the back of the safe

                        So I sold it ......
                        Bad Move ............

Now thinking back ,,, I really liked that gun

A p-14 for $200 about 2 years ago. It was in real nice condition.

Oh and a m38 for 130 at the Vallejo gun show about a year ago. Man did I screw up.

the French MAS 44 that I traded at Fed Ord for something stupid. The Krag 1892 rifle, 1896 carbine and 1899 carbine, all three sold off for other rifles. Two Masden M47 rifles....I could go on and on.

I sold a minty Russian SKS made by Tula to a good friend around 1997 for $275.00. Not bad for that point in time but, today that carbine would fetch $500.00+ easily. What can I say, I was unemployed and needed the cash.

Prior to that, not really C&R but still a heart breaker. I sold a 686-4 with 4"bbl. to another friend that just fell in love with it. Little did I know at the time that S&W would go nuts and start boring holes into the frames, using MIM parts, etc. Fortunately, I've since replaced that one with a -2 in 6".

                                I haven't sold a gun since.
