C&R regrets?

Have you ever sold, or didn't buy, a C&R and regret it now?

I've never sold any of mine, but there are two I wish I'd bought.

The first was late 07 when M44s were plentiful for $69-$79. I had just bought my 46 Izhevsk a few weeks ago for $69, and I decided to look at what Big 5 had when I picked up my rifle. I had a 44 Tula M44 in my hands at the $69 sale price, but I didn't buy it. I hadn't been into shooting for very long, and I didn't know I'd catch the mosin bug. This is my biggest C&R regret.

My other regret (although I don't feel as bad about this one), was not buying a Finn-captured 1894 Tula M91 at the Reno show last weekend. It's an antique so I could've bought it, but I thought the price was high at $425. I had the cash in my pocket, but I'm doing my best to save for an Rguns PU so I didn't pull the trigger. This one doesn't hurt near as bad as the M44 since I know I'll get the Rguns PU much faster by not spending the money, but I would've loved to own that M91!

I had a chance to get a Steyr-Mannlicher M95 carbine in really nice condition. The straight pull bolt fascinates me and the price was great.

I've sold around a dozen or so of my C&R's... Overall- Naw, I don't regret selling any of them. I've moved on.

C&R's I didn't buy? Heavens yes! I can't count how many times I (like a buffoon) didn't buy something that I really REALLY REALLY wish I would have...

A 1929 Finnish M-27 for $150 comes to mind. UGH!

Back when those M44s were $69 each and discounted if you bought more than 5 at a time from AIM... got my C&R a month or two after those dried up.

I regret not buying that unissued Hungarian M44 when i had the chance several years ago. It was pricey but would have been worth it. Still haven't found a decent Hungarian.

Sold my very nice Argentine M1927 Sistema to fund another purchase. Couldn't even buy another today for the price I sold mine for years ago.

I have one C&R regret was not buying a 1917 Enfield correct grade for $450.00. Had my mind set a Garand and past it up. Had the money in pocket.

I don't sell mine, so I only regret the ones I didn't get. Back in the early 90s, I was a starving student, and there was in incredible store down here called Johnson's Guns and Guitars. He used to have all kinds of oddball stuff come through there. I really regret missing a Remington-Keene that was $1500 at that time. And a Ross 1910 in pristine condition. And the Berdan Number II rifle. And a host of other incredibly rare guns that weren't a whole lot of money. Alas, I didn't have the funds, nor the knowledge to know that I shouldn't have let them slip by. I still wish I had gotten some of them, but I did build up quite a collection there.

When I bought my first Mosin, an M38 in an m38 stock(not an M44 stock), I paid $99 bucks for it. I chose the best bore out of the three. I wish now I bought all three of them, that was two years ago. Not they seem real hard to come by, more so if they have the M38 stock(so many were referbed into the M44 stock)!
