hey fellas! i really need some help.

looking to buy a k98 rc. i found some on other forums or past threads, but all gone..... even the stores that were notorious for keeping a huge stock pile of them are now all gone... should i wait until next week to find one at the oc gun show? i dont trust myself to make any judgements on the authenticity since i have very little knowledge of these.

i would rather pick one of these up from a reputable dealer....that is.... if there are any dealers that have them anymore..... oh yeah, forget about referring me to mitchells mausers, any help guys?

Seems like Big5 has Russian captures for sale pretty regularly. That's where we got ours.

I would say that depends on several things.

What shape are they in?

How much are they going for?

Are they matching?

k98 are getting a bit harder to find in good condition and the prices are going up.

i got mine off Gunbroker.

RCs are not hard to find.

i'd recommend a ftf transaction at a gunshow tho. as long as the gun is around $300 bux and the guy's not claiming it shot a panzer general or something, RCs are in the millions so it shouldnt be hard to get a decent one at a not too 'spensive price. i got mine about 2.5yrs ago for around 300, i cant imagine the price's changed that much.

The only one of the big retailers online that have any is Samco Global. This is how they describe them:

If it has the winter trigger guard its likely a postwar build using left over stocks of K98 parts. Not the same as an RC.

Big 5.

I got my RCK98k at the local Big 5. If the one on display is not to your liking ask if they have some more "in the back". They usually have some more still in the boxes, the one I bought was the third one I looked at.
