    Samco Persian Mausers

Samco has the VG condition Persian mausers back in stock for $269. I received mine yesterday (took about 2 weeks or so to get shipped), I know, worthless without pics -- I will take some and get them posted this weekend! -- just thought I would give a brief overview. Bore has clear, sharp rifling, crown was in great condition. Not a lot of cosmo. Bolt and receiver have matching Arabic script numbers, numbers on the cartouche on the stock also match. The only import mark I could find was an Arabic (i.e., normal!) number translation of the Arabic script number for use as the serial number. Crest on the receiver is sharp, as is all of the Arabic script on the receiver and sight.

Stock is in good shape, a few dings, but nothing major. I ordered a bayonet along with it, it is one of the really long Czech export bayonets, numbers did not match the rifle, but the bayonet was in good shape, no dings on the scabbard, and little cosmo.

I think this is the nicest mauser in my collection now, even nicer than my RC K98 I got from Dennis and Empire a couple years back. Shipping was a little slow, but the price is not too unreasonable. I know Samco gets mixed reviews here, but I am happy with the K31 I got through them last year, and this rifle is pretty nice as well.

You are right about being nice. These mausers are a work of art. Wait until you shoot it...then you will really be impressed. I picked up one of the unissued rifles when they first came in and what a beautiful gun it is. BTW, I got the sling and bayonet as well. Looks real nice.

I was fortunate to get an unissued one. Here's 10 shots at 200 yards off a sand bag with my hand loads.

I ordered an unissued rifle a few years ago when they sent me an email mentioning that it may have slight rust spots on the metal. I cancelled my order. Sometimes I regret cancelling, for one I have always had good luck with Samco and two, they where honest about it.

Anyone get one like that that? With pictures?

I have an unissued rifle from SAMCO with the original
          test target, and the bayonet.
I like it, I'm glad I have it, but my two favorite bolts are my
k-31 and my Enfield no 4 MK 1

i cant wait to see your pictures, ive been wanting to get a persian mauser for such a long time, and then samco stopped selling the unissued with the matching bayonet and all that good stuff, and ive been curious to see what condition the other ones they offer are in. also not to be a dick about it but the numbers are not in arabic they are in farsi.

Good buy! Are Persians and Turks the same animal? I picked up a Turk long rifle (BRNO receiver) at big 5 for 89 bucks 5 or 6 years ago. Frosty bore, mismatched. With the Turk bando ammo(pre-war), milk jugs at 150m don't stand a chance! I allways wanted one in better condition. Nice score!

The Persian Mausers are very nice rifles, espcially the unissued ones. Hoping to be able to get one eventually.

The Turks did get some rifles from BRNO after WW1, but they got far, far more from Germany, both before & after the Great War. Many were later overhauled in their own state arsenals at Anakra and Kale. The Persian Mausers were made by BRNO in Czechoslovakia under special contracts in the 20's & '30's.

Heck of a deal. Swede and Persian Mausers are the most elegant rifles I have seen. I watched a Persian chambered to .06 8mm shoot a ragged hole at 100 yards with all 5 rounds.

Oh my! I didn't know anybody had anymore of these! How much was shipping? I tried doing a mock order to find out, but it wouldn't let me go forward.

Shipping on mine was $28.20, that's for the rifle, bayonet and a couple of slings I ordered -- I don't know if the shipping was higher because of the added accessories or not, but that's probably the ballpark.
