Just picked up the only Swiss K31 I saw at the Crossroads of the West gun show in Costa Mesa today.

    $260 with matching numbers

        Thanks!

Stock has some dings but metal is great and bore is blinding.

I wouldn't have bought it if not for killer price.

Worth the stank eye I got from the wifey.

LOL - That's her job - Did you find the troop tag under the buttstock?

She is actually supportive of my collecting...most of the time.

            No troop tag...

I just got back from the show. Didnt see much that caught my attention. My friend has a few SVT40s for sale at the show but I was a tad short on funds. Only saw a couple Finn Mosins (M39s and 1 Tikka 91/30). Almost bought an M1 Carbine but just do not know enough about them yet (NPM semi beat up, MW 2, $650). Ended up getting an AK pistol grip nut and a box of 40S&W HP rounds that ended up being 45 ACP+P. Too bad I dont have a 45

Lucky man to find that k31 cheapest one I saw was 290 and wasn't nearly as pretty... That was the other item on my list to get! There's always next time!

I love a gun show or any way you can check your merchandise out by hand.

Just saying, empire arms often has nice polish m44's, k31, etc. for less than the prices I'm reading here! Really? I am shocked.

Check out all our online sources before buying a $550 mosin. (Even though I admit I did spend a little more for a very nice repro sniper recently).

The cure: Buy a Mosin M44 and shoot 100 rounds as fast as you can. When you can handle that, you are good to go.

Yarp Im thinking im just going to order a k31 from JGsales and Ive already set aside the money for a service grade garand from the cmp. Unfortunately Ive been notified that Im going to be losing my job here next month on the 15th. So perhaps Ill order the K31 and use the rest of the money to pay bills.

got the better part of my collection at COTW shows. let's see, i bought my type99 arisaka, a type 38 carbine, an enfield jungle carbine, an unfired Mas36/51, a Carcano cavalry carbine, bought my dad a 91/30 and 1200 rds of ammo for 150 bucks....i'm sure there's others i'm forgetting, but yes, there are neat things to be had if you're patient, but don't be too patient. first couple times i went i bought the first thing that struck my fancy and later saw something else i wanted but hey, it's alright as long as you get something. also, every time i've bought a weird old milsurp, i go in search of ammo for it at the show. usually found it. keep that in mind when you buy one so you don't have to wait a long time to shoot it. sure, you'll pay a couple bucks more a box at the show, but no shipping, it all works out. happy hunting, maybe i'll see you at the next costa mesa show.

7.5 Swiss up here has been impossible to find at the Vallejo shows so far. I've seen a ton of .303, 7.7 Arisaka, all sorts of Mauser ammo, but no Swiss stuff, not even commercial stuff.

After jumping back into collecting guns this past year, I've been to two shows. They are nothing like the old Great Western gun shows in Pomona, but better than I thought they would be. I like to refer to these guns shows as AR-15 shows. Man, they got tons of parts for these guns. I don't really care for those as I shot them in the service enough.

I'm really up in the air when it comes to my next purchase. It changes weekly. Let's see, first it was a M1917, then 03A3, then Mosin Nagant sniper and now 03A4 Sniper. I love looking at the table with the two factory original 03A4s the guy always has. Prices are out of my immediate price range. I still need to read up on these before I spend that kind of cash. Not really looking for a factory original 03A4. I'd be happy with a factory refurb. Just want to stay away from any potential all out fakes.

In the mean time, I'll keep reading as much as I can on the 03 and in particular the 03A4s. Going this route will also keep me in line with the same ammo as I already have a M1 Garand.

I managed to get a Carcano carbine $100 otd at last show. Picked up a .410 bolt action cheap too in new condition at a show as well cash and carry C&R.

Overall though expect high prices for beat or sporterized junk.
