C&Rs at the Gun Show? Updated w/pics now!

Anybody have any luck finding cool C&Rs at the Gun Show? Namely Crossroads of the west? Im dead set on going this weekend and am looking for a K31, a M44, or a M38 or even a m39! As far as the mosins go should I be looking for anything besides the usual bore condition? I know polish m44s are usually better made but how do I tell a polish m44 from a russian one? I guess I need a primer on the receiver markings or just a few to look out for.

Good luck. All the c&r's I see are 'high dollar fancy' ones.

The last gun show I went to in Vallejo I saw several M44s and a few M38s (in a M44 stock).

Depends on the sellers at that paticular show. The last Crossroads of the west at the Ventura show had lots of C&R. Prices a bit high, but thats what bartering is for.

        Good luck.

I've got a finn m39 I've got my eye on or even a k31 from jgsales so I know what the prices are to beat for what I've got in mind. I'm really looking for shooter level quality at a hopefully shooter price. Saw a sporterized K11 that a guy wanted 200 bucks for but couldnt bring myself to buy it.

I'm on the same hunt. Went to last show in Glendale and Ventura before that. Lots of nice C&R, but prices of course were quite a bit higher than mail order. At Glendale, a guy had some VERY nice K31s. One had an original Diopter sight. Asking $850 with matching numbered bayonette. I would have paid $600 at most for it. I'm looking for an RGuns Mosin Sniper, but might just have to mail order that.

I found my K31 at the Vallejo gun show. It was one of 2 there and the other one was a later build beech stock, mis-matched numbers, and $100 more. Be thorough and really see what every table has. It was about halfway through my time there that I was at a table looking at a LEO trade-in S&W99 in .45 that I saw them put the K31 out. If anything, ask around and see if they have something they haven't put out yet. Also, there were a lot of over-priced Mosins and Garands ($1450 for mis-matched numbers...) so you'll have to really sort through everything.

I've had a nightmare of a time trying to track down a bayonet from a similar period to my production date; I can only find the late build bayonets it seems.

Gun show C&R price is close to the gunstore price minus DROS, tax, and 10 day wait. Bargain with cash from private sellers. 01 Dealers have to collect those fees taxes and make you wait. It's for the children, you know.

A Polish M-44 will have an oval with the number 11 in it on the receiver. In my experience the wood is lighter in color. Good Luck.

Well, $200 almost sounds like a deal considering the last time I went to a jerky and knife show, a guy was asking $400+ for a run of the mill K31.
If you want a C&R, unless you see a deal on one here, you are better off just mail ordering it.

A few months ago J&G had a bunch of K31s with matching bayonets.
I considered it but realized i really don't need a pig sticker.
