new C&R need help on choices!

so i just got my C&R and am going a little nuts.
my girlfriend has pleaded with me not to become "a weird gun guy" but, man oh man...
so many cool old things out there.

to start, i really want a CZ-82 Czech 9x18 Makarov and a Yugo Tokarev M57 TT (the russian tok's seem to have dried up or gotten fairly expensive..).
any suggestions on a FFL in the bay area to have these bad boys shipped to? valkyrie arms seems to be getting high marks around here..
and there is no 1 every/30 days nonsense with these C&R's as well, right?

thanks so much for any help,

    doug

    Valkyrie is a good choice.

Do you have your COE too? You need that to by pass the 1 in 30 and the 10 day wait.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

An 03 doesn't do you much good in this state for handguns.

This is true, youcan always road trip to j&g in arizona and cash and carry handguns, or for that matter any state. As far as rifles go, a k98 mauser has been on of my favorites, mosin nagants are ok, they are pretty crude and rough around the edges but still fun. Some of the others such as the swede mausers are cool, but expensive to shoot. Remenber if you import a handgun through cash and carry in another state you have to notify the state and send them 19.00 dollars for each.

cool.. i'll give them a holler..

i do not have a COE. i was under the impression that i wouldn't need one when ordering online/from out of state. (J&G in arizona, for example)

i thought the COE only covered/expedited purchases made in CA. i swear i read up on everything AND ITS STILL NOT CLEAR.

does this mean i need to make a road trip to bypass the wait? if i go to prescott i can buy 2 handguns?

There is always a lack of clarity due to the varying interpretations/misinterpretations of the law. Dealers and other sellers respond to this uncertainty in different ways. Many refuse transactions that are legal (or more accurately not illegal).

MDVN, are you still of the opinion that California residents who have 03's SHOULD be able to accept C&R handguns without going through a 01, meaning, shipped to their California door? I always liked that argument.

Yes you can buy more than one, imo it would be cheaper to roadtrip than pay the transfer fees at a 01 ffl. I paid 140 each for a cz52, 195 for a tokarev, and payed 57 to the state to "register" them. Even at best case you will pay no less than 50 dollars each to transfer at a ffl, plus the shipping charges. Take a vacation, go to j&g for the weekend.

Yes, that is my opinion. Otherwise, I must conclude that the regular and frequent interstate transfers of C&R long guns (without the benefit of a California dealer) are also illegal. You simply can’t cram all the business that the major vendors do through the 50-year exemption.

things are tight here at work but i guess a 48 hour/weekend motorcycle trip is better than 30 plus day wait...

Me neither, but I was once almost lured in by the old Big 5 ads.
