Yes, stacking swivel is correct. I was thinking of the part on the Kar98a that performs the same function.
      Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

If one or both, then you must start planning now how to excuse future (well guaranteed) Garand buys. The withering looks of SWMBO are tough to bear, but not as bad as the plaintiff cries of the youngins when their Pop Tarts have disappeared from the budget in favor of a "once-in-a-lifetime" IHC purchase. Well, don't worry now, it will take a bit of time for the Garanditis bug to thoroughly infect you, for now you can laugh it off. But, in time, seriously consider your options when you have to deal with opium of the military long arms realm. Best of fortune (you'll need it).

Yeah, I know. Can you believe it? I was going to buy one in 2009, but got an M1A instead. Nice gun, but I still wanted a Garand and with what's coming out of CMP now, I just couldn't resist.

I'll pass this one down to my son. If the daughter decides to get into shooting, I may buy one for her too. We'll see.

I really like my old guns and am building a nice, but small collection. Next on the list is an Enfield, but I need to do some more research and decide on exactly what to get.

Mine came with the original barrel, but it is in excellent/like new condition. If you read the fine print on CMP's website, the HRA Specials come with the original barrel. From what I read this is due to the fact they were manufactured after the Korea conflict, so unless they were used by the country these were sold too (Greece), they got very little, if any use here in the U.S.A.

Mine looks like it got some use and was probably fired a bit by the Greeks, but there is very little wear and the bore looks like new.

Nice thing about these rifles that aren't "Correct" grade is I can take it out and shoot the living heck out of it over the years. If I wear out the barrel, new replacements are easy to come by.

In the meantime, I get to enjoy a rifle that is about as close as I can get to one that is in original, unissued condition.

Best of all, it was a steal at $895!!!!!
