    My first Garand!!!

Fedex just dropped it off. H&R Service Grade Special. Gun looks awesome!! Only signs of wear I can find are on the top of the rear sight. The rest looks like it just came off the assembly line.

Armorer's tag says muzzle of 1+ and throat of 2+. Stock is new, which is what I wanted.

Can't wait to take it out shooting this weekend!!!!

That's sweet! Welcome to the M1 addiction. Now, all you need is a Springfield, Winchester....
Next to me in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty. The greatest Christmas gift I had ever received, or would ever receive. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep, pringing ducks on the wing and getting off spectacular hip shots.

      First thing is first.
      1. Use some grease pots on the bolt lugs and the op-rod channel. The CMP paperwork has more info on that.

BEAUTIFUL Garand Sir. Perfect coloring on the wood.

From your other thread, you said you ordered on 12/28. So thats a 41 day turn around from order to reciept.

I'm on day 24 of my wait. If they're consistent, mine should be at my door on or around Feb 24th! I hope sooner!

By the way, your rifle looks nice.

Get a solid gas plug if shooting beyond 300 yards.

                          Rings

Why does the Garand have two forward sling attachment points? Just curious. I assume it is so you can attach the sling at either point. I'm curious as to why they put on two?

                          Anyone know?

The most forward one isn't for the sling, it's a stacking hook swivel (not my rifles, web pictures).

                            Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.
