    COE renewal?

My COE expires on 2/7. I received and subsequently returned my renewal form back in November. Several weeks ago I remembered that I had not yet received my new COE in the mail and, after further checking, noticed that my renewal check has yet to clear my account.

I have called DOJ and have left several messages asking to confirm receipt of my renewal application. Yesterday I noticed the outgoing message on the voicemail states they are processing COE renewals for certain date ranges, including my expiration date, and that checks will be forwarded for deposit after processing.

My concern is that, unless they calls me back, I have no way of knowing if they even received my renewal form and check.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't have a renewal situation but my initial application, mailed Jan 5, is still showing up as DOJ and FBI pending as of yesterday morning.

Sounds like they're either swamped, understaffed, etc.

My renewed COE generally arrives about two days before the old one expires, my check never clears the bank until a week or two after I've received the new COE.

I received my renewal notice in late December (probably to coincide with two month notice) and sent it in immediately. It was due to expire 21 February and I received the renewal on 7 February.

                        Update:
I just called today (Feb 15) and it appears the DOJ and FBI replies were received on Feb 10, so I assume it's moving along.

If anyone's tracked their status via the telephone status number do you have any data as to time between agency reply and receiving COE in the mail??

                        Thanks

Update: Got COE in the mail yesterday. Here's the timeline if it' helps anyone's expectations or anxiety:

                          Livescan Jan 4
                          Mail application Jan 5
DOJ / FBI checks complete Feb 10
                          COE Arrival Feb 16

All told, 42 days of angst.

Now I've been saving some shekels and it's time to drop the hammer on a couple of C&R pistols I've been wanting and I can do it all in one trip - just like I was in America and I had second amendment rights!!!

They must have changed their procedure. I used to get the renewed COE in a week or less. Even the initial certificate took less than 10 days.

I sent in my current renewal application on Jan 20th and haven't gotten anything yet
