    COE wait time?

Ive had my C&R for a while and i've decided on getting a COE too. How long does it usually take for you to receive it after you mail off the application?

I just got my COE and it was less than two weeks (10 calendar days) from the time I did my livescan. They now collect the $22 COE fee when they do the livescan, along with the state ($32) and FBI ($19) fingerprint fees. Livescan fees vary by location, usually $15-25.

Quick question with a COE I can let my HSC expire? This is what I understood.

4-6 weeks is average. Mine took 4. Renewals are faster, by a bit.

Technically, yes. But I would not. For $5.00 per year cost keep it, at some point it will save you a return trip courtesy of someone who doesn't know any better.

I always bring a 2nd form of residency with me, too many "Ah, I don't think the C & R counts" opinions.

I also keep an electronic copy of my C & R/COE - if you unexpectedly find something (in state or out) you can e-mail a copy to the store from your cell phone while you're standing in their shop.

you still need an HSC for modern handguns. The C&R+COE combo only exempts you from the HSC requirement for C&R handguns.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

just did my livescan today. they didnt take the coe fee from me, they just charged me the rolling fee plus the DOJ+FBI fees, then I mailed off the application with a $22 money order.

OH poo!, Looks live I overpaid. The dude doing the livescan was wondering why mine cost more. We didnt realize the $22 coe fee was included. Oh well maybe they will credit me for another year or just refund me.
