I found one in Ripon a few weeks back when I took my father-in-law's VW to the dealer in Modesto. Mismatched grips, replacement mag, no finish left but it was $399 so I tried to buy it. No problem with my C&R (one way to have fun in CA is try to buy C&R guns--many places go nuts -- Big 5 is the most fun)

What killed the deal was the latest impediment placed by the state on sales. He couldn't sell it until 30 days after purchase. I called him after the 30 days, but of course someone local had come in and bought it right after they opened.

If you check the NS thread, he was asking $275 and I didn't quibble, I bought it.

It doesn't feel that free when you live here, but it is much less restrictive than CA.
NV does not have a DROS system, but does have an instant check (Brady law) system for unlicensed buyers of handguns from gun stores. Clark County does have a handgun registration requirement for residents of Clark County - this registration can be done at one's convenience at the local Metro PD substation and is free

      I miss Nevada
I can understand why you miss NV, I just could not, in any way, bring myself to move back to CA. I'll be retiring in a few years and as much as I miss the ocean I'll not be returning to California.
      Nice pickup for the OP!!!
Thanks, I'm anxious to shoot it.

That is a very good price.

I have one of each: 25 auto, 32 auto, and 380 auto. They all cost a fair amount more than $250, but here in this state we can't legally buy handguns in back of a convenience store.

Great price. Mine was $500 but it did have almost all of its finish intact plus minty wood grips. Yours is still nice though so that price certainly would make it one to pounce on IMO.

I just saw a refinished one with a pitted slide for $585 locally. I think I paid less than that for my LNIB one. You just have to be patient when it comes to Colts & wait until you find the right one at the right price.

As beemaze said. I managed to snag a 1903 in nevada for $300, it came with a leather holster, belt and 4 additional magazines.

The catch22 was the gun had been refinished
