That's not what the debate was about. The rifle marked P-25 is obviously a P-25. The debate was over calling another rifle (that probably came from the same production as the others) a "P series" but it did NOT have a "P" stamp on the barrel. I'm not taking sides either way but I do think that the mods on 7.62 tried to explain their position in plain English and it's their forum and they have every right to close a thread or move it. If you look in the "non-collecting" area, it's FULL of threads that are locked and moved... that's just how they run THEIR board.

Frankly, I agree with pullnshoot in that the unmarked rifle fits into the "P" series, but i think the way he has handled himself over there, and then posting all this crap on here, is rather childish. Just my opinion.

It really doesn't matter what or how Nate said it. He is right. They are wrong. I have helped with this research a little bit and those guys are d-nozzles over there.

Yes, he was. We are both reenactors. Reenactors who are strict and serious about authenticity are often called "Stitch Nazi's" by people who don't care about authenticity and it is an insult.

I did years of medieval recreation and re-enactment and the terms 'seamchecker', 'authenticity nazi' and such were commonplace.
As was the joke about shaking hands and using the left hand to check the cuff of the toher person for machine stitches.

Been down that road too many times to consider it a serious insult here.
