    so quit hating,it ain't cool....
Thank you for the clarification. It sounded like you were taking a perfectly good, original condition 91/30 and drilling it.

      Dan,
You've never shot a deer at 1000 yards with a Mosin and iron sights. Not trying to be a jerk but c'mon man, let's not exaggerate.

I beg to differ. I see plenty of sporterized mosins at gun shows. Most of them happen to be m91's and finns. When I'm looking for a certain model, and can't find one that hasn't been sporterized, then yes, that does affect me.

Will this project affect me? No, especially since he's taking a pre-bubba'd one. But some do, make no mistake about that.

And I'll stand by what I said earlier. A scope does not make a rifle more accurate. Depending on shooter preference, it may make the shooter more accurate, but the rifle is the same as it has always been. (I prefer aperture sights myself)

I never said that I did shoot one at 1000. I stated 527 yards... I stated that with this rifle, it is possible, just as it would be with a 30-06. I mean seriously, I now see how most are at this Forum. Everyone just wants to rag on someone else, because it makes them feel better. I mean out of all that I typed you just wanted to rag on me saying that it might be possible to shoot an animal from 500-1000 yards, but instead of reading that, you automatically want to ridicule me and make your comment.

i always thought that i it would be cool to get the fabled fiberglass composite stocks that china was rumored to have made for their mosins during vietnam. i saw of for an SKS kind of orangeish maroon. then its be the military style just not wood

Agreed, stitchnicklas. I for one, can't wait to see your pics as it is always a pleasure to see a rifle improved . . . whatever make or model!!

I agree stitchnicklas... Please post some pics once you get it. I am still looking for a good scope mount setup for mine, because I will not be hunting this year without one.

rare??? standard mosin with a turned down bolt already on it??

just means a stock change, where is the butcher?? old stock would be donated to a calgunner, scope mount would be on the tangent base,so i do not see any butchering??
